American Airlines will upgrade its nonstop service from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to London’s Heathrow Airport beginning March 5 to provide additional seats and amenities.
The Boeing 777-200 aircraft American Airlines will use features in-seat entertainment, including live television and WiFi, and has about 40 more seats than the B-767 that is currently serving the route.
American Airlines has operated nonstop service to London from RDU since 1994.
“We are delighted that Americans will once again fly the Boeing 777 nonstop from RDU-London Heathrow,” said Michael Landguth, RDU Airport Authority’s president and CEO, in a statement. “Customers love this nonstop route, and we anticipate demand for international service will continue to grow in the Triangle region.”
