Police say a 22-year-old man was killed in North Raleigh early Friday when his car skidded off the road and slammed into a tree.
Emergency workers pronounced Christian Sanchez dead at the scene, said Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue.
The accident ocured shortly after 4:30 a.m. on North New Hope Road between Hollenden Drive and Capital Boulevard, Sughrue said.
Investigators say Sanchez was alone in a Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle when he ran off the road and crashed into a tree. Authorities have not said what caused the SUV to leave the roadway and crash.
