A 9-year-old boy who was stuck by a car on a dark road near Wake Forest on Tuesday night was moved to Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham where he was listed in critical condition.
Logan Thomas Decosta of Wake Forest was on his bicycle and playing in a yard with other children just before 8:30 p.m. when he veered out into Forestville Road and fell, said State Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Michael Baker. As he attempted to get up he was hit by a Mercedes Benz, Baker said.
The driver of the car, Denise Jolene Huffman, 31, of Fuquay-Varina, has not been cited, but the accident is still under investigation, Baker said.
Logan was first taken to WakeMed in Raleigh before being transferred to Duke.
