Vandals spray-paint cars in Southeast Raleigh neighborhoods

Police were investigating vandalism in which more than two dozen cars were spray-painted while they were parked on streets in Southeast Raleigh overnight Sunday.

Police said some traffic signs and sidewalk also were painted.

Streets where cars were damaged included Southgate, Star Sapphire and Slippery Elm drives, Alabaster Court and Rock Quarry Road, police said.

All the streets are in neighborhoods north and south of Southeast Raleigh High School.

Patrol officers were working their way through the area taking crime reports.
