Seven-story hotel could be headed to land next to Crabtree Valley Mall
A new hotel could be coming to the Crabtree Valley Mall area.
The Raleigh City Council will consider a rezoning request later this year to allow up to seven stories at 4409 Creedmoor Road. The site is currently zoned for office buildings up to four stories.
The public can learn more about the plan at a neighborhood meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Laurel Hills Community Center, 3808 Edwards Mill Road.
The property is across from the mall, between the greenway trail and the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union operations center.
Mall shoppers may have seen the current occupant of the site: Kris Kingle’s Coins, a one-story numismatic shop, that includes a life-size Santa Claus on the side of the building.
The property was bought last year for $3.9 million by AGS Crabtree LLC, according to Wake County real estate data. The company is registered in Wake Forest and the registered agent is Harinder Singh. Singh did not respond to a phone call from The News & Observer.
The area already has several hotels.
