Sixteen 16 people were charged with driving while impaired at a Raleigh Police Department checkpoint early Saturday northeast of downtown Raleigh, according to a police news release.
The checkpoint, which was in the 4400 block of Capital Boulevard, also netted two driving while impaired-related vehicle seizures, seven drug violations, one weapon violation and 11 driving violations, the news release said.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Apex Police, Garner Police and Holly Springs Police assisted, along with a Wake magistrate, a City-County Bureau of Identification agent and a mobile blood-alcohol testing lab from the state.
