A Durham man is accused of stealing a donation box from the Walmart on Glenn School Road.
Police suspect Ron Christopher Jones II, 44, cut a steel security cable from the receptacle, which was meant for Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center, on Aug. 23, according to an arrest warrant.

Jones was charged with the crime on Tuesday, but has been held at the Wake County Detention Center since he was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor larceny on Aug. 26, according to county records.
He had been charged about two weeks earlier with failure to appear in relation to a shoplifting charge, county records state. Jones also faces a charge of habitual larceny, records state.
Jones was held Tuesday at the Wake County Detention Center on $51,500 bond, according to county records. He was due in court on Wednesday.
