Police arrested and charged a man in connection with an Aug. 19 hit-and-run accident that left another person injured.
Homayun Ethan Azargoon, 29, is being charged with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one felony charge of hit and run.
Police say four Raleigh residents were targets of Azargoon’s attempts to strike them with his vehicle on Aug. 19. Azargoon managed to injure one of them and left the scene of the injury, on Edwards Mill Road, police say.
It is not clear from arrest warrants whether police are accusing him of targeting specific vehicles or victims. It’s also not clear whether all the listed residents were in one car or separate cars.
Azargoon served time for receiving stolen goods, possession of a schedule V substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in 2008.
Later that year, he was charged with injury to personal property, but those charges were dropped.
In February 2009, Azargoon was placed on probation for a breaking and entering charge, and the court also ordered him to see a psychiatrist.
A month later, the court dropped charges brought against Agarzoon of possessing stolen goods and drug paraphernalia.
He will appear in court on Monday for the most recent charges of assault with a deadly weapon and hit and run.
