A worker for State Fair ride company Wade Shows Inc. was charged Sunday afternoon with stealing ride tickets and selling them.
Wake County sheriff’s deputies charged 20-year-old Jorge Augusto Perez-Martinez with larceny by an employee and obtaining money by false pretenses.
In an arrest warrant, deputies said the first charge involved 491 tickets valued at a dollar each, and the second charge involved selling 302 of the tickets for an unknown amount of money.
Perez-Martinez, who gave officials no permanent address when he was arrested about 4 p.m., was held on $50,000 bail.

A magistrate wrote that he is in Wake County only to work at the fair and would be a flight risk if he were freed.
Perez-Martinez was scheduled for a first court appearance Monday.
