A killing outside the Club Rumors in downtown Raleigh prompted a state Alcohol Law Enforcement investigation that culminated in an Oct. 22 raid in which 14 people were arrested.
Agents seized marijuana and cocaine, and confirmed alcohol was being consumed there after hours, a search warrant showed.
The Aug. 20 shooting in the West South Street block where the club is located claimed the life of Ramon Antonio Shaw, 23.
After an undercover agent subsequently visited the club, agents launched a 3 a.m. raid Aug. 22 and charged two employees with drinking after hours and manager Earl Dion Hicks, 41, with allowing it.
Then, after a stabbing in the vicinity of the club on Oct. 1, ALE resumed its undercover investigation on Oct. 15, ALE Special Agent Israel G. Morrow said.
Morrow then sought a search warrant for Oct. 22, to be executed after 2 a.m., when bars have to stop serving alcohol.
That warrant was returned to the Wake County Clerk of Court and made public on Tuesday.
According to the warrant, ALE agents and Raleigh police arrested 14 people, including Hicks again. One of those arrested, Tiffanie Lizette Bass, 32, of 409 Broad St. in Angier was found to be carrying a concealed .38-caliber Derringer.
Agents seized 34.7 grams of marijuana in plastic bags, a bag containing 2.8 grams of a white powder, and about $1,100 in cash, the warrant stated.
