Police seize child pornography, arrest Apex man

Police searched a man's computers Thursday, then charged him with 12 counts of having child-pornography videos.

Jason Ronald Taylor, 32, was arrested at the house where he lives at 2500 Watersglen Drive. Warrants accused him of 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Most of the videos involved girls, the warrants said, and the children in them ranged in age from 4 to 10.

Police had taken a search warrant to the house about 9:30 a.m. and arrested Taylor about noon, according to the search warrant and arrest records.

Detectives seized a laptop computer and numerous storage devices, they said in returning the warrant to the county court clerk’s office later Thursday.

Taylor was being held in lieu of $240,000 bail pending a court appearance Friday.
