A man found badly beaten and dumped by the side of the road outside Hillsborough a week ago remains in critical condition.
Orange County sheriff’s deputies responded just before 8 a.m. Nov. 14 to University Station Road and Station Road, where the man was found severely beaten and unconscious in a ditch.
It is believed the man was attacked in Durham, thrown from a moving vehicle and left for dead, according to a news release.
The man was later identified and was taken to a local hospital but is listed in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Office has not released his name, age or any physical description other than to say he is black.
