NCSU student reports assault, robbery on Hillsborough Street

A N.C. State University student was assaulted, threatened with a knife and robbed on Hillsborough Street east of campus, he reported to university police.

The incident happened about 2 a.m. Sunday between Hillcrest and Forest roads, police said in a notice to the university community.

Three men attacked the student, he told police. He reported that they showed him a knife but did not use it to hurt him.

EMS workers treated the student at the scene.

Police said the victim told them the robbers were three black men, each about 6 feet tall. One wore a white shirt and jeans and the second a red shirt and jeans. Police did not have a description of the third assailant’s clothing.

The three fled on foot, the student told police.
