Durham police say someone deliberately shot at an officer

Police say someone deliberately shot at a Durham police investigator who was driving in an unmarked police car on Wednesday, and they're offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest.

The investigator was driving on South Street shortly before noon when several shots were fired at his car from a car on Bond Street. One bullet hit the officer's car, but he was not injured, police said.

Other bullets hit houses.

Police think the shots came from a gray sedan, possibly a Nissan, with tinted windows. Police described the occupants of the car as two black men wearing blue and black jackets and say both may have fired shots.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to contact Investigator K. Emanuel at 919-560-4415, ext. 29306, or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
