City and federal law enforcement officials are investigating two men from Georgia who were charged with having counterfeit gift cards and a card-coding machine in their car when they were stopped on Interstate 85, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.
Andrew Brice Chuck-A-Sang of Duluth, Ga., and Donte Morant of Atlanta, both 29, were headed south on I-85 and were near the Orange County line when a member of the police department’s Highway Interdiction Team stopped them after seeing a traffic violation Tuesday afternoon, Michael said.
In their car, she said, police found several gift cards that had been encoded with numbers from stolen credit cards, four phony identification cards, the coding machine, two computers and five phones.
The two men were being held in lieu of $200,000 bail each, and Michael said city officers were working with the U.S. Secret Service on the case.
