Durham police are asking for help tracking a suspect in an Aug. 10 bank robbery in South Durham.
A man armed with a gun entered the Cardinal State Bank at 5309 Highgate Drive on Friday, Aug. 10 shortly before 6 p.m. He forced several tellers into a vault and demanded money.
The man fled in a clean, silver car that may have been a newer model Nissan Altima, police said. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and about 250 pounds with a beard and a moustache. He was wearing black sunglasses, a blue hat, a black shirt, black sweatpants and white tennis shoes.
Anyone with informatin is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 683-1200, Investigator J.S. Smith at 560-4420, ext. 288, the FBI at 233-7701 or (704) 377-9200 or the N.C. Bankers' Association hotline at (800) 209-2293. Both CrimeStoppers and the bankers association are offering rewards for information leading to an arrest.
