Woman shot in face in domestic dispute, Raleigh police say

A woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to her face, and a man was charged with assault with intent to kill after what police characterized as a domestic brought officers to an apartment building on East Six Forks Road early Thursday, a spokesman said.

Reshell Rockele Jean Bryant, 27, was taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh for treatment. Police said medics did not think her wound was life-threatening.

William Arthur Davis, 35, was named in arrest warrants charging him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and with illegal gun possession, police said.

Davis was hospitalized and will be arrested when he is released, spokesman Jim Sughrue said. Police did not disclose why Davis was taken to the hospital, but they said it was “for medical treatment not related to the incident or his arrest.”

The incident happened about 1:15 a.m. in the 900 block of East Six Forks Road, Sughrue said. The Manor Six Forks apartments fill that block.

No condition reports were available for Bryant or Davis on Thursday morning.
