Wake sex offender charged for not reporting address change

A Wake County sex offender was charged Friday for breaking conditions of his 2007 conviction.

Antwon Rather, 25, was arrested by Raleigh police in southeast Raleigh on Friday for failing to report a new address to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office,

He was also charged with assault on a female and a common law charge of false imprisonment. Rather’s arrest warrant does not provide details on those charges.

It was unclear whether Rather’s listed address in Zebulon is his current address or the last address reported to authorities.

As of Sunday the state’s sex offender registry listed his address as unknown.

Rather was convicted in 2007 at age 17 on a felony incest charge. Rather was 15 when the crime occurred, the state’s sex offender registry notes.

He was ordered to obtain his diploma or GED, stay employed and forbidden to live with minors.
