Orange County sheriff's deputies arrested a man at a University Station Road home early Monday after finding a woman there had been shot several times, officials said.
Larry Adkins Griffin, 64, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, Deputy Chan McDade, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said. He also was charged with assault on a female and resisting arrest and was being held without bail.
The incident happened about 3:50 a.m., McDade said.
The first deputies to get to the house after being told a woman had been shot were able to get her to safety while other deputies arrested Griffin, McDade said.
