Police have charged a third man in connection with a shooting in Southeast Raleigh on Thursday afternoon that left one man dead and two injured.
Aaron Nicholas Burton, 17, was charged with murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a stolen firearm in connection with the shooting. Burton was transported to the Wake County Detention Center, according to a statement from the Raleigh police.
Elaton Omar White Jr., 24 and James Keavon McCallum, 16, were charged with murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to an earlier statement from police.
Tauquez Elfthaniel Mann, 20, was killed in the shooting, which took place about 3:15 p.m. on Bowman Lane, a short, dead-end residential street off Rock Quarry Road.
When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. The men were taken to WakeMed. A third man was taken to WakeMed in a private vehicle.
Police say they arrested Burton outside his home at Coleman and Tipton streets in Southeast Raleigh.
White and McCallum were arrested after they fled from a vehicle that had been shot at on Interstate 40 near Gorman Street at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday, police said. The driver of the vehicle was wounded and ran off the road.
The driver and a passenger were taken to WakeMed for treatment, while police say White and McCallum fled to the 1500 block of Main Campus Drive, from where they were also taken to WakeMed.
