One day in February, one Raleigh man got ahold of another man’s identification, then went to two car dealers and used the information to buy a pickup and an SUV, according to charges in two arrest warrants that police swore out Thursday.
The warrants named Jujuan William Blanton, 29, who lives on Woods of North Bend Drive. Detectives arrested him at their offices Thursday night.
The warrants said Blanton got access to a man’s driver’s license and Social Security number on Feb. 21.
The same day, police said, Banton went to Capital Ford and bought a 2014 Super Duty pickup and went to Mitchell Mill Motors and bought a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Police charged Blanton with two counts of identity theft and two counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
He was held on $40,000 bail pending a court appearance.
