Detectives acting on tips have arrested a suspect in a Friday afternoon bank robbery in North Raleigh.
The robbery happened at about 12:40 p.m. Friday, at a First Citizens bank in the 4800 block of Capital Boulevard, Jim Sughrue, a Raleigh police spokesman, reported.
Tips led police to identify Wilbert Lewis Davis Jr., 44, as a suspect in the robbery, according to a news release late Friday. Davis was taken into custody without incident and charged with common-law robbery.
Sughrue reported earlier Friday that the suspect walked into the bank and handed a robbery note to a teller. The teller complied with the note’s demands for cash, and the robber, who did not display a weapon, walked out of the bank and fled, Sughrue reported.
No injuries were reported.
Davis was being held late Friday at the Wake County Detention Center.
