A shooting outside a Southeast Raleigh apartment complex early Wednesday left a 27-year-old man dead and two people wounded.
It was the second fatal shooting in a three-hour period in the city. Police, by late Wednesday afternoon, had not made an arrest in either case.
At 1:22 a.m. Wednesday, a woman called 911 and told an emergency dispatcher that someone outside of her apartment had been shot and was on the ground moaning, according to a copy of a 911 recording made public Wednesday. She told the dispatcher that at least two people had been struck by gunfire.
The woman told the dispatcher that there were “a lot of people outside, watching,” but she was unable to provide the dispatcher a physical description of the suspected shooter, according to the 911 recording.
Police arrived at about 1:25 a.m. to the 300 block of Dacian Road and found three gunshot victims. Paramedics rushed them to WakeMed hospital.
One of the victims, Juan Romero Reyes, died of his injuries, said Laura Hourigan, a police spokeswoman.
