Police charged Brown with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; discharging a weapon into occupied property; simple possession of marijuana and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present.
The victim in the shooting was not identified, but police said she was 27 years old and was taken to Duke University Hospital with serious wounds.
