Acting on a new charge from the Wake County Sheriff's Office, a magistrate added $1 million Tuesday to the bail of a man who was charged in July with marijuana trafficking.
An arrest warrant accused Vincente Arocho, 26, who lives on Sandy Run in Knightdale, of operating a continuing criminal enterprise by trafficking in marijuana and conspiring to traffic.
Arocho has been in the Wake County Detention Center since July 15, when he was charged with gun possession by a felon.
The next day, Arocho was charged with marijuana trafficking after sheriff’s investigators found 23.84 pounds of marijuana at a property at 6721 Bethany Church Road that they said he used to store drugs.
In July, Arrocho had been arrested at his home after a car chase, and the bail for all the resulting charges and the trafficking charge was $1,250,000.
With the new charge, Arocho’s bail stands at $2,250,000.
Arocho’s brother, Ernesto, was arrested in September on a heroin-trafficking charge. He has remained in the detention center in lieu of $500,000 bail since then.
