The mother of two 5-month-old boys whose father was arrested on a felony child-abuse charge earlier this month was charged Thursday in the same incident.

Holly Lynn Pamarthi, 35, of 5308 Jade Forest Trail surrendered Thursday morning at the Wake County Detention Center.

She is charged with intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury and misdemeanor child abuse. Those were the charges police brought against Nagaraj Venkat Pamarthi, 41, on April 8.

Nagaraj Pamarthi was accused of breaking one boy’s left arm and bruising the other boy on his left ankle, right calf and hip and right arm.

All the charges list Jan. 25 as the date of the incident, though Nagaraj Pamarthi’s arrest warrants said the injuries occurred some time in an eight-day stretch that began then.

Holly Pamarthi was charged as a result of an ongoing investigation, police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said. It was not clear Thursday what evidence led detectives to decide to charge her.`
