Two men were wounded by gunfire late Thursday afternoon in Southeast Raleigh, but police say their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Walter Kemone Jones, 21, of Raleigh was shot once in his right leg, according to a Raleigh Police Department news release. Cleveland Barbee Jr., 42, also of Raleigh, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his right leg and lower body.
The shooting occurred outdoors in the vicinity of 3514 Marshline Way shortly before 4:20 p.m. near Rock Quarry and Barwell roads, said Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue. Both men were taken to WakeMed in Raleigh for treatment of their injuries.
Investigation into the shooting is still underway. No charges had been filed as of late Thursday night.
