Police on Monday charged a 25-year-old man with trying to kiss and lick a female shopper’s shoes at Walmart.
Investigators charged Nashon Luther Holmes, of 130 Leghorn Drive in Zebulon, with one misdemeanor count of sexual battery, according to an arrest warrant filed Monday afternoon at the Wake County Magistrate’s Office.
Police say Holmes attempted “to satisfy his sexual arousal by laying underneath the victim and in between her legs in an attempt to lick her shoes against her will,” according to the arrest warrant. The incident happened shortly before 11 a.m. Monday at the Walmart store in Knightdale, said Lawrence Capps, the town’s police chief.
The shopper told police that she was in the store talking with another person when she noticed a man laying on his back, trying to slide to get close to her, with his head by her feet.
“She was startled and jumped back,” Capps said. “She said he jumped up and rushed out of the store.”
The woman followed him and was able to give police a description of the vehicle he left in from the store parking lot. Police stopped the vehicle a short distance from the store.
“By his own admission, he admitted that he was attempting to kiss and lick her feet,” Capps said. “That was sufficient evidence to place him under arrest.”
The Zebulon man remained in custody Monday afternoon in lieu of a $1,000 bail, according to the arrest warrant. Holmes was also ordered to have no contact with the victim as a condition of his release from jail, according to the arrest warrant.
