Three men in their early 20s have been charged with sending a man to a hospital to have a pellet removed from his head after the trio shot at his car Wednesday in the 1400 block of East Millbrook Road.

Keontae Green, 20, Malik Keivon Brown, 22, and Keenan Joshua Byrd, 21, were each charged with assault for the driver’s head wound and injury to personal property for damaging his 2005 Jeep Wrangler. All three men live in Raleigh.

Police said in charges against each man that he assaulted the victim by “firing a pellet gun at him and striking him in the head. The pellet had to be removed at the hospital.”

In addition to Wednesday’s incident, police charged Green with shooting at a man and hitting him in the hip on Jan. 24, and they charged Byrd and Brown with shooting at a third man on Jan. 19 and hitting him.

Each of the three is also charged with damaging several other vehicles with pellets on Sunday and Tuesday.

Police also claim they can tie the trio to three other incidents earlier in January, including one on New Hope Church Road and one at the Capital Motors on Capital Boulevard.

Police had arrested Byrd and Brown on Jan. 11 in the 2400 block of East Millbrook Road and charged them with assault and property-damage charges because of a similar incident that day.

They were already scheduled for court appearances Thursday on those earlier charges.

Wednesday, all three men were charged after they were questioned at detective headquarters on Greens Dairy Road, arrest records showed.

For the charges police filed Wednesday, Byrd and Brown were held on $30,000 and Green was held on $15,000 bail.
