3 men shot in North Raleigh; police and EMS respond

Police and emergency crews responded to a reported shooting in an area of apartments in North Raleigh Wednesday evening.

Three men were reportedly shot in the area near the intersection of Six Forks and Lynn roads, according to a news release from the Raleigh Police Department.

There was a heavy police presence in the 500 block of Shelly Ridge Lane off Lynn Road near Midtown Crossing Apartments. Police were searching the area with flashlights.

Police said three men were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to a nearby hospital. Their names and conditions were not immediately available.

One resident of Midtown Crossing Apartments, A. Rowland, said she saw three ambulances leave the complex.

According to a 911 call released on Thursday, a caller from the Midtown Crossing Apartments reported seven to eight gunshots and requested an ambulance around 7: 26 p.m. Wednesday.

Midtown Crossing Apartments was still an active scene as of about 8:45 p.m. Police and EMS were dispatched at about 7:30 p.m.
