Wake County sheriff's deputies arrested a Wake Forest man in Durham on Thursday on charges that he took indecent liberties with a child several years ago.

An arrest warrant that deputies got Jan. 31 charged Brian Holt Self, 53, with two counts of the felony and said the incidents happened between Aug. 1, 2009, and Aug. 1, 2011.

The warrants said only that the child was under 16 years old, and the sheriff’s office declined to say if the child was a boy or girl and how old he or she was at the time.

Holt was arrested Thursday afternoon at a store where he works on North Roxboro Street in Durham, records showed.

The sheriff’s office said Self’s arrest did not end the investigation that led to the charges.

Self was held at the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
