A Raleigh man was arrested Thursday on a car-theft charge related to a $160,000 Maserati sports car stolen 13 months ago.

Detectives had obtained a warrant for Daniel Crucado-Martinez, 28, last year after the red, 2014 Maserati Grantourismo, owned by a Wake Forest man, was stolen on April 4, 2014.

Crucado-Martinez was listed on the warrant as having no permanent address, however.

Officers had been unable to locate him until Thursday, when they arrested him at Holly Hill Hospital at 3019 Falstaff Road, according to police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan and arrest records.

When he was booked into the Wake County Detention Center, Crucado-Martinez was listed as now living on Old Plank Road in Raleigh, part of an apartment complex on Calvary Drive.

The records did not indicate why he was at the hospital.

Hourigan said Crucado-Martinez and the Masterati’s owner apparently knew each other before the car was taken. It was recovered intact, she said.

A magistrate set Crucado-Martinez’s bail at 1/16 of the car’s value, $10,000, and he was held for a Friday court appearance.
