A Raleigh man who is on probation for a 2014 conviction involving a child was charged Thursday with 12 counts of having child pornography computer files.
A magistrate cited the probation in setting Robert Carl Svendsen’s bail at $1.2 million after detectives arrested him at his 2111 Summerdale Drive home late Thursday afternoon.
In arrest warrants, police charged Svendsen, 29, with 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a child. Second-degree exploitation indicates that police believe someone downloaded or distributed material rather than just possessing it.
Girls ranging from an estimated 18 months old to 11 years old were seen in the videos, police said.
