Raleigh police arrest suspect in weekend shooting at Crabtree Valley Mall

Raleigh police have charged a man as they continue investigating a shooting Saturday afternoon at Crabtree Valley Mall that they say damaged vehicles but didn’t injure anyone.

At around 1:35 p.m., police responded to multiple calls of shots being fired in a parking deck outside the mall at 4325 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, the police department said in a news release.

They found shell casings and vehicles damaged from gunfire. There were no reports of injuries, the release said.

On Monday, police said they have charged Jaquez Anthony Brown, 24, with discharging a weapon into occupied property, which is a felony.

They also have served him with outstanding warrants for assault on a female and communicating threats out of Durham.

A second person, a suspect, left the mall in a car, hit another car, and continued fleeing, police said. The crash didn’t cause injuries.
