Homicide detectives have taken up the case of Dwight Grayer, who was shot in his car at an intersection Jan. 4 and now has died, police said.
Officials did not disclose what day the 20-year-old Grayer died, but said his death was the result of his gunshot wounds.
Grayer was stopped at a red light at North Duke Street and Horton Road a little after 6 p.m. when another car pulled up next to him and several shots came from it, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.
No one has been charged in the case yet.
Police asked that anyone with information about Gray’s killing call Investigator A. Cristaldi at 919-560-4440, ext. 29322, or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
