Raleigh man killed in street shooting

Police said Tuesday that a man they found shot Monday night at the intersection of Paint Rock and Barren lanes in the southeast part of the city died overnight, and the case has become a homicide investigation.

Marcus Trevon Howard, 24, who lived a few blocks from the scene, died at WakeMed Raleigh hospital, police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said.

Officers were sent to the intersection about 8:30 p.m. after 911 operators got a call that there had been a shooting.
