While detectives looked Monday morning for an armed robber who stuck up a man in a motel room, a Wake County woman and a Johnston County man were being held on charges of helping the robber get away from the scene of the crime Sunday.
Police said an armed man entered a room at a Super 8 motel on Sunday afternoon and robbed the occupant. They believed he had escaped in a pickup truck.
Late Sunday, they accused Brian Keith Polimeda, 43 of 37 Archer Lodge Road in Clayton and Jamie Renee Little, 24, of 404 Trail of Merlin, near Garner, with being accessories after the fact of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Detectives said in arrest warrants that Polimeda and Little were in the pickup truck that gave the robber a ride away from the Super 8.
About 40 minutes after the robbery, someone spotted the pickup truck, a statement said, and officers found it abandoned in the 200 block of Seagrams Court shortly after that.
A police statement said Polimeda and Little were “detained not far from where the truck was located.”
The robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. They did not disclose what was taken.
Police classified the robbery as a home invasion. They said they were looking for a black man, who has a stocky build, stands about 5-foot-6 and was wearing a plaid shirt and a brown or tan jacket. He had some facial hair, they said.
