Durham sheriff’s deputies are trying to identify this man in a Nov. 30 incident in which a car was broken into at Oak Grove Elementary School on Wake Forest Road and a purse taken.

Sheriff’s deputies in Durham distributed a picture of a man they say broke into a car parked at the Oak Grove Elementary School and stole a worker's purse.

A security camera at the school captured a picture of the suspect and a dark blue Dodge Magnum that deputies believe he was driving when it happened about noon on Nov. 30.

Oak Grove is at 3810 Wake Forest Road

Anyone who could help deputies identify or locate the man or the Magnum was asked to call Investigator E.C. Hoskins at 919-560-0895, sheriff’s spokeswoman Tamara Gibbs said.

Authorities had no indication that the man knew whose purse he was taking, and it was unknown why he chose the school and the one car. No other cars were entered, Gibbs said.
