Four people face felony charges of assault with intent to kill and attempted armed robbery of a man who arrived at a police station late Sunday afternoon saying he'd been shot.
One of the four, 42-year-old Dixie Dawn Williams, live in the 6700 block of Ridgecroft Lane. That is where, police said, James Crudrup told them he had been shot in the leg.
Crudrup came to the department’s North District station, three blocks away, at 5:33 p.m. He was taken to WakeMed Hospital while investigators began to piece together the case.
About 90 minutes after the incident, they arrested 22-year-old Jessica Lee Goins of Holden Beach at the 6700 Ridgecroft, records showed.
After questioning at detectives’ offices during Sunday night, police also charged Williams, Shawn Michael Messina, 29, whose address was listed as a men’s shelter on South Wilmington Street, and Cikeria Armoni Green, who has no permanent address.
All four were charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Police had said Sunday after Crudrup reported the shooting that they did not think it was a random attack. That phrase usually indicates police believe a victim and suspects knew one another.
Green and Messina were held on $500,000 bail each. Williams was in custody in lieu of $300,000 bail, and Goins was held in lieu of $275,000.
All were to appear before a judge Monday.
