A hit-and-run collision involving a police officer occurred near Eastwood Drive in Durham early Thursday evening.
A man driving a stolen car struck a Durham police car after failing to stop for an officer shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to a release from Durham police. The driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot. A passenger in the stolen vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The officer was not injured.
The driver who fled the scene was a black male with a slim build, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing and appeared to be in his late 20s.
