Police arrested a man and woman early Monday at her home on South Bloodworth Street and charged them with heroin trafficking.
Deandre Maurice Brown, 26, of 6225 North Hills Drive in Raleigh, and Kadijha Denae Wiggins, 24, were arrested about 1 a.m. at the single-family house where she lives at 800 S. Bloodworth, records showed.
Both were charged with having 8.9 grams of heroin, a quantity large enough to bring the trafficking charge. They also were charged with heroin possession with intent to sell and distribute it, maintaining the house as a place to keep and sell drugs, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and distribute it, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wiggins also was charged with failing to appear in court when she was supposed to in a separate, earlier case.
Wiggins was held in lieu of $122,000 bail and Brown in lieu of $120,000.
Both were scheduled for first court appearances on Tuesday because courts were closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
