Police have captured two men whom they charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a taxi driver last summer.
Curtis Lewis Jackson, 18, was arrested Thursday afternoon after he had been tracked down by officers from the department Violent Incident Response Team and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.
Tuesday, members of the city team arrested Deandre Lamar Jackson, 25, Michael said.
Both men are charged with attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping and felony conspiracy for an incident that happened in the 500 block of Hardee Street on June 15, 2015.
A taxi driver told police that he was walking to his cab after getting a call, and two men approached him. They forced the driver into an apartment and shot him in the stomach, police said.
Authorities have not disclosed whether they know why the driver was abducted and wounded.
Police did not say if the Jacksons are related.
Curtis Jackson was being held without bail. Deandre Jackson’s bail was set at $2.5 million, and he remained in custody.
