Marvin Thomas Deboise, 56, was charged Monday night with attacking a woman with a knife at a mobile home near Knightdale and with hitting the same woman in Raleigh last month.
Wake County sheriff’s deputies arrested Deboise at the Fig Lane home of the woman they said he attacked with a knife. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
He also was charged on a warrant that Raleigh police obtained Jan. 23 charging him with misdemeanor assault on the same woman, saying he hit her in the face.
Deputies also charged Deboise on a warrant saying he failed to register a new address as a sex offender. He was convicted in Jefferson County, Ky., in 1985 of an offense involving a 10-year-old and got out of prison in 2000, according to the state’s sex-offender registry.
The registry lists his last verified address, in October, as 330 S. Salisbury St. in Raleigh, which is the Wake County Justice Center and the sheriff’s office.
Booking records from Monday night show his address as a men’s shelter at 1420 S. Wilmington St.
The charges involving the woman were classified as domestic violence, and Deboise was held without bail for a Tuesday court appearance.
