Police on Wednesday arrested a man they had charged with beating a robbery victim badly enough that his eyes swelled shut for days in November.
In an arrest warrant they swore out earlier this month, police charged Frederick Outhernail Amerson, 19, of 433 Creekway Drive in the town with common law robbery, breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize or injure and assault inflicting serious bodily injury.
The incident happened Nov. 21 at the victim’s home on Birchtree Valley Court, the arrest warrant stated.
The man, who was robbed of $200, had a concussion, “severely bruised ribs” and “bruised eye sockets – swollen shut for several days,” police said in describing the reason for the assault charge.
Amerson was held in lieu of $150,000 bail for a Thursday court appearance.
