Clayton man, 33, wounded in shooting

A man was wounded in a shooting early Saturday morning that police say resulted from a domestic dispute.

Brandon Pleasants, 33, was shot in the face and stomach, Clayton officials said in a news release. Police said Pleasants told them he had been shot by his mother’s boyfriend, Timothy Carroll Driver, 58.

Pleasants lives with his mother, Driver and Pleasants’ two young children in the 900 block of East Joyner Street, Clayton, according to the release.

Pleasants was taken to WakeMed hospital, where he underwent surgery, and is expected to recover.

Driver was arrested on charges including assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was being held Saturday at the Johnston County Detention Center in lieu of $80,000 bail.
