Two suspects have been arrested in a shooting Friday afternoon at a Capital Boulevard shopping center that left two people wounded.
Carlos Dshon White, 18, and Tyquann Lamar Talley, 17, face charges including robbery with a dangerous weapon, police said Friday night in a news release. White also is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.
Both were being held at the Wake County Detention Center, police said.
The shooting took place about 1:15 p.m. at the Ashton Square shopping center at Capital Boulevard and Buffalo Road. Police had crime tape around different stores in the center, including an outbuilding near Capital that was once a nightclub. Police had cordoned off two SUVs in the nightclub’s parking lot, where a handgun was found on the ground.
The two victims were taken to a hospital.
Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random act, suggesting those involved knew one another.
Josh Hartford said he and several others were in the El Mandado supermarket when they heard two gunshots outside. When they came out, Hartford said, they saw a man with blood on the front of his shirt.
“One guy was speaking to him in Spanish, and then we heard, ‘Pop, pop, pop,’” Hartford said, as another six or seven shots were fired.
