A man and woman were being held on $500,000 bail each Wednesday after being charged with child abuse that arrest warrants alleged had left a 9-year-old boy with scars on his torso and arms.
Michael Hodge, 53, and Tammie Marie Dunn, 46, were taken into custody at the Wake County Detention Center on Tuesday morning and went before a judge Tuesday afternoon. They live at 6004 Titanic Court just outside Wake Forest.
Each was charged with intentional child abuse inflicting serious injury, a felony.
The arrest warrant that Wake County sheriff’s deputies obtained for Michael Hodge stated that his 9-year-old son was found in October with “multiple scabbed scars about the upper torso, back, chest [and] arms.”
The warrants did not disclose who reported the injuries or say if investigators know what caused them.
The woman was charged and booked under the last name of Hodge, but she was being held and appeared in a court calendar as Tammie Marie Dunn.
