Man shot at apartment complex in Raleigh

A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in an apartment block near Interstate 40 and Rock Quarry Road, but was expected to survive, police reported.

The man, who police said was 20 years old but whose identity they did not disclose, was found in the 1700 block of Fountain Drive after police got a report of a shooting a little before 5:30 p.m., a statement said.

The victim was taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.
