Police charged a 61-year-old man with stabbing a 53-year-old man with butcher knife and firing a shot that grazed his leg Thursday night at a home at 1210 Mangum St.
Harry Reed Jr., for whom police list an address on South East Street but who was booked with 1210 Mangum St. as his residence, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The other man, who lives at 1210 Mangum St., was taken to WakeMed Raleigh hospital for treatment. Police said neither the knife wound not the bullet wound was life-threatening. The stab wound was in one of the man’s hips, police said.
The arrest warrant charging Reed listed a butcher knife as the bladed weapon. The bullet came from a handgun, it said.
Police were called about 10 p.m. after residents on Mangum Street reported hearing gunshots, police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said.
A magistrate set Reed’s bail at $200,000, and he was held for a Friday court appearance.
Arrest records showed that 1215 S. East. St. was Reed’s address when he was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering in 2015.
