Two, or perhaps more, men broke into a Durham County home early Thursday morning and fired gunshots before running from the scene, the sheriff's office reported.
A homeowner saw at least two men force their way into the house in the 4700 block of Redwood Road about 2:30 a.m., sheriff’s spokeswoman Tamara Gibbs said.
The invaders fired shots that broke glass that cut the owner, investigators said. They then ran off.
The owner was treated at a hospital and released, Gibbs said. Children who were in the house were unhurt.
No descriptions of the men were available Thursday, but deputies asked that people with information that they think might lead to an arrest call 919-560-0900 or Durham CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
